Rain moving off shore, St. Lucia. September 13, 2001.
At the risk of boring you, I’m going to post another picture from St. Lucia. I think it is especially appropriate for Watery Wednesday, although you may need to enlarge it to see all the details.
This picture was taken on our catamaran cruise down the west coast of St. Lucia. In the distance, behind the catamaran, there is a sailing ship — a replica of a pirate ship. To the left of the photo you can see the coast of the island, blue skies and fluffy white clouds. To the right of the sailing ship the coast is almost completely obscured by a rain storm that is moving off shore. A few moments later the ‘pirate’ ship completely disappeared in the rain. Fortunately our catamaran avoided the rain, except for a few stray drops.

I’m not sure what I’d be more scared of: the pirate boat or the storm, … or both attacking at once! Sounds (and looks) like an adventure, a high seas one no less.

Nice shot. I love the see raining falling like that from a distance. It’s almost easy to tell that it’s rain. And more photos of St. Lucia would not be boring. 🙂

Who says it’s boring. It’s indeed a very great photographs. It’s not easy to be at the right place at the right time with the right equipment and the right skills and the right exposure 🙂

That is a wonderful photo, George! So much happening, yet it is not all strained. Just the sort of thing you would see. I love the contrast between the rain and the sunlit clouds. The pirate ship simply adds flavour!

Excellent shot George. You’ve captured the rainfront so clearly. To see the ship the picture needs to be viewed larger and that way it was even better.
