This is my first entry for Watery Wednesday, but you can check out other photos on this theme by clicking on the logo above or at http://waterywednesday.blogspot.com/.
The picture below was taken on Antigua, in September, 2001. Betsy and I were on a belated honeymoon cruise in the southern Caribbean. We visited six different islands on that cruise, but I think Antigua was definitely one of my favorites.
I especially liked the coast near Shirley’s Height, where this picture was taken. The coast line, except for a few cactus, was mostly barren and dropped sharply down to the ocean, which was an incredible blue. I’m not sure how high the cliffs are, but while we were there we looked down on a helicopter flying along the coastline!
The contrast between the red-brown cliffs, the deep blue water, the bright white surf and the lighter blue of the sky is one reason I like this part of Antigua so much. I hope you like it too!

I definitely like it. It looks quite dry, but warm. Looks like the water is inviting for snorkeling too. A great place for a honeymoon.
Enjoy each day…..

Beautiful! The contrast as you say is wonderful – the water is so blue.

This is so pretty. Maybe it’s just my imagination but in this shot it’s easy to imagine the rest of the world beyond the borders of this picture, like a globe with all of that blue water and the brown land…
Very nice!

Bet it was a wonderful trip. I am sorry, I did not realize you have a blog too, until I saw your name on Watery Wednesday. Thank you for the many wonderful comments you have been leaving me on my blog. I visit Betsy all the time, but just did not realize you both are bloggers. Do you fight over the computer?

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments.
Leedra, Betsy and I each have our own computers. We sit opposite each other in our ‘computer room’. I would guess that we spend as much time in this room as we do in any other room of the house.

I didn’t know about Watery Wednesday, but since I live near the ocean in Southern California … I’ll think about participating in the future. Thanks for sharing this LOVELY island view. I don’t think I’ve ever seen cactus near the ocean.
Hugs and blessings,

Hi Thanks you for your kind words on my tt post. I see you can cross off the only thing I did not accomplish. You went to see the ocean. How wonderful for you both to have a honey moon cruse. That is just an awesome gift for you both to share with each other.
