The picture above was taken on Galveston Island in April, 2008, before Hurricane Ike devastated the island later in the year. Betsy’s son worked at a new resort on the island and he was giving us a tour of the resort club house when I took this picture. I like the clouds floating in over the Gulf.
It’s difficult to reconcile this pretty picture with the damage caused by the hurricane.

215 and 222 this time around. Only 6 to separate us. Not bad.
It is a great view with nice clouds and the place looks like one where you can spend some serious quality time. There must be mixed emotions as it´s not there any longer.

This is a beautiful image George. It is so sad how things were so devastated there.
I have a friend in Clute who has visited Galveston many times before and since and has said how unbelievable it is to see.

This is pretty. Nice clouds. I was going to take my trailer to TX this winter and go to the beach, but the campgrounds are closed from the hurricane.

What a beautiful place! Yes, it’s so sad that Galveston was hit again. I hope by now, a lot of people have been able to start rebuilding. But at least you’ve got a great photo to remember it by.

Lovely shot! I’ve only been to Galveston once and it was before the hurricane. So much damage when hurricanes hit. Can’t imagine living with that threat.

That is a beautiful picture of the clouds and sea behind the pool. Looks like a great vacation place. Galveston has been through devastating hurricanes before. I’m sure they’ll rebuild and recover from this last one in time. Always a shame to see such damage.

You have visited some truly beautiful places. I love the clouds above the pool. Happy Easter dear friend. You and Betsy have a wonderful weekend. We have had tornado warnings all evening and rain and hail. I sure hope your roses are safe tonight.
