My Beautiful Multi-Tasking Bride

Betsy 'relaxing' at home. December 18, 2009.

We had planned on going on going to Hendersonville today, but when we got up there was ice on the driveway and road in front of the house.  Since the weather was expected to get worse, we called Mom and Dad to see if they could get by until Sunday or Monday when the weather was expected to be better.  They said they were well-prepared for any emergencies and that we shouldn’t try to come when the weather was bad.

The only time I went out all day was to get the mail — it was a nice change of pace from our usual routine and I must admit it was very nice.

Late in the afternoon I came upon my beautiful bride seated on her throne (recliner) in the living room, wrapped up in a quilt, enjoying the Christmas tree, watching television, visiting blogs on her laptop and texting on her telephone.  Oh, yes, you can’t see it, but she was also enjoying the fire in the fireplace.

Who says senior citizens can’t do more than one thing at a time?

There is absolutely nothing senior about either one of you two…I’ve never known two more “hip” youngsters in my life…kudos to both of you!!!

  2. Neal Says:

You just have to promise me that you won’t let her start flying a plane since she said she would like to have been a pilot. 🙂 At least warn me if she starts flying. 🙂 Seriously, both of you are great. I believe technology absolutely scares a lot of older people that haven’t worked with it before but it doesn’t seem to bother you guys. I know both of you have worked with it before so you don’t let it scare you. I don’t always know what I’m doing even though I’ve worked with computers for 35 years (when a 10mb disk weighed about 150 pounds) but I keep charging ahead and am still learning stuff.

This is so cute George!!!! I love how hi tech you both are and of course Betsy can multi-task: She is a woman!!
Glad your parents can get by without you having risk the drive. Happy Saturday!!

  4. Tricia Says:

I’m so glad you guys decided to stay put – From what I’ve been seeing on The Weather Channel today, it’s very dangerous out there!

    Betsy… YOU GO GIRL! heheheeee

A good earned rest from all that dressing up – that Betsy and you do (I know about it from Betsys blog) lol.

  7. Fishing Guy Says:

George: Your weather has been worse then ours. Way to text away Betsy.

  8. Cheryl Says:

I certainly do not think of you and Betsy as senior citizens! My goodness you two put me and my husband to shame! Loved the photo of your bride multi-tasking. Ashton would be sooo proud of Betsy and would say to me, you should take lessons from Betsy!

  9. Karin Says:

Whether young or older – never did like icy roads! So glad you stayed home and had a comfy, cozy day. I just have to chuckle that you call Betsy’s chair her ‘throne’!! At our house that’s the name reserved for the seat in the bathroom! LOL

  10. Happyone Says:

The snow here is still coming down. We have a couple of feet so far, way more than is normal for us.
Okay Betsy – way to go!!

  11. MaryBeth Says:

So when someone says they are having a ‘senior moment’ it truly means they are busy doing many things at once. LOL

BTW: that is a saying i really detest. MB

  12. Happily Retired Gal Says:

    Haha! What FUN 😉
I love ‘Mary Beth’s’ comment just above. Isn’t it a good thing to have such ‘conveniences’ in your wintry weather!!!
    Hugs and blessings,

  13. Mary Says:

I always thought I did several things at once, but I think Betsy has me beat by a mile! This will keep her young in heart and mind 🙂 Go Betsy!

  14. Judy Says:

She needs a cat in her lap, too!
Have a safe and Happy Christmas season!!!
