Scenes from Garvan Woodland Gardens, Arkansas. March 9, 2009.
When we went to Arkansas in March, 2009, we stopped a couple of places on our way to Mount Nebo. We checked out a waterfall at Lake Catherine State Park and we also went to Garvan Woodland Gardens near Hot Springs.
We went to Garvan Gardens to check out a couple of waterfalls (aren’t you surprised?). Garvan Gardens is The University of Arkansas’ Botanical Garden and is located on a 210-acre peninsula. It started out as a private garden which was later donated to the University.
We found the waterfalls we were looking for — and much more. The spring flowers were in full bloom and could be seen from many different places within the garden. We spent a couple of hours walking through the different sections of the garden and enjoying the sights.

The photo of the snow after your big storm was good – I am getting tired of the dingy snow we have here, and would welcome a good fall of snow! I love these spring photos, too! Especially the koi!

spring flowers in full bloom… will they ever come this year? i know it’ll happen, but spring sure is taking its precious time! we even had more snow today

These are truly stunning! And I loved looking at all the others with your link! I do so love the row of koi and the curved line of pink tulips. The chapel is amazing, Probably worth the trip just by itself, in my opinion. But what is the purpose of that carillion thingy? It’ very intreguing!

OH MY GOODNESS this place is beautiful. I miss Spring in the Midwest. (Or probably anywhere but here.) We don’t have significant color until May, and spring is windy with dust storms. Your pictures are idyllic.
