Cedar Falls, in Petit Jean State Park, is probably one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Arkansas. Betsy and I visited Cedar Falls for the first time in November, 2006, and at that time we hiked to the base of the falls. Last week we settled for viewing the falls from an observation deck on the rim of the canyon. We had another hike we wanted to take, and besides, we had those new telephoto lenses to try out!
Cedar Falls is about 95 feet tall and is very impressive any time of the year. I think it makes a wonderful post for Watery Wednesday.

Looks like the water is shooting out of the side of the rock wall…your rose collage is beautiful…Not only have ya’ll had record snow…a record in itself of reading that Betsy is ‘tired’ of snow? She made me laugh….

Lovely falls – for sure! Interesting where one finds all these escape routes for water. It sure is powerful to carve itself a path wherever it wants to! Have a great day – despite the new snowfall and you having to shovel it again! Blessings!

The falls sure were running for you that day. and your

Very impressive! It looks like the water is just shooting out of a small hole in the rocks, Each fall is just so different-something you and Betsy have taught me.

Great shot! I can almost feel the spray from that water crashing down. Even though I’m not much of an outdoors woman in the winter time, this looks like a lovely area to visit this time of year.
