More of our roses from 2009.
We had three days of beautiful weather earlier in the week, but the last two days have been cold and rainy. I’ve started a couple of projects out in the yard, but I haven’t been able to make much progress. And if this cold weather continues I’m going to need to split more wood and carry it to the garage so my Beautiful Bride will be comfortable in the evenings.
Our crocus have bloomed and are just about completely gone. Nothing else has begun to bloom. I will say that the grass is greening up very nicely, so I guess I will have to think about checking out the mower one of these days.
I’ve started to partially uncover the roses. Most of them are showing signs of new growth and need to be cut back. I won’t completely uncover the roses until I’m fairly confident that freezing temperatures are behind us.
So while I’m waiting for Spring to get serious about coming and staying here on the Plateau, I’ll try to stay warm by remembering what the roses looked like last year.

Lots of flowers in full bloom around here. I noticed at the Tulsa Rose Garden a few weeks ago the workers were trimming the roses back. Its supposed to be near 80 here next week.

I see some growth on the one rose I have. The deer kept eating the buds of all my roses so I finally removed the plants and decided not to have any roses. Sad I know. I will enjoy yours long distance. My daughter got this for me one Mother’s day so I do have one rose bush.
And don’t fret—Spring will show up there sooner or later. MB

This spring lady – she’s taking her sweet petunia time up here too! Some years she came fast and furious, with such intensity for a month and then the heat of summer was upon us! Have a lovely week-end!

Looking forward to seeing those roses!! It was cold here too. Only 30 degrees this morning. The sun it out now though and it has warmed up to 50.

Your roses are always stunning, George. I love the colors of “Dream Come True”. My Peace rose is teasing me with new growth. It didn’t seem like my crocus bloomed very long but they were so pretty.

We actually saw someone mowing their yard yesterday, and they were probably 40 miles or so north of us. And the yard actually needed it.
