Fairfield Glade is an interesting community. Most of the full-time residents are retired, but it is also a time-share resort with plenty of visitors in the summer. The Fourth of July is a big celebration for both groups. People here on vacation like to find things other than golf and the visiting grandchildren of residents need to be entertained.
For a relatively small community the Glade puts on a pretty good fireworks display. I couldn’t resist the temptation to join residents and visitors at the Druid Hills club house to see the show. All of these pictures were taken Sunday night. I learned some things about my camera while taking these, so hopefully I’ll do better next year.

Looks like a fun display! I particularly like the 2nd shot – looks like a puffy flower! I guess half the fun is in the noise too! I visited our daughter and family and their little town put on a great display too. Dtr. took pics with her new Rebel that we got her for her birthday! She loves it and is learning so much. — I keep wondering how much a half hour of fireworks actually costs the taxpayers, lol!

I say you did a great job! I’m just glad there is no sound with these,
or my Betty dog would be shivering on my lap.

These are stunning! If this is learning, I can’t wait to see next year!! This is what I have been waiting for and hoping you would show us with your new camera. Yes, I have encountered a few commenting problems on blogger today. So tiresome when you have written a long comment, then they lose it! But I think my comment on your other blog came through.

I haven’t watched fireworks in years! Not since the dogs started needing someone to hide under…
Maybe next year, I will just leave them behind…

Hello Georgie,
Long time no read 🙂 But hey thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment.
I must say these are excellent. Who needs the real thing when one can admire stills like these. Says she who hates the loud bangs.
Anyhow nice to be back in the blog world again. Hoping to come a bit more often to visit from now on.

Here are your other shots! 🙂
I think not knowing how to get good shots has kept me away from trying.
All that shutter speed and stuff clutters my head. 🙂
