I’m not sure how many of you are old enough to remember the 1955 film “Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing”. The film was set and filmed in Hong Kong. When I visited Hong Kong in 1987 our tour guide stopped at this overlook above Repulse Bay Beach. One scene from the film was shot at the overlook while other scenes were shot on the beach you can see below.
The movie didn’t make as big an impression on me as the song of the same title, but it was still interesting to be at a place where part of the movie was shot.
The picture above was scanned from a slide.

Doing a little blog catch up reading! What a lovely beach in Hong Kong – so cool that you got to see it up close! Loved those gorgeous, unbelievable roses, and that X in the sky has to be a divine sign, lol!!! Blessings to you two!

That is a great scenic view. I haven’t seen the movie either, but with those kind of settings the movie must be definitely memorable.

Well I’m sorry I don’t remember the movie but how nice it would have been to be there to film it.

Like many others, I don’t recall seeing the movie but loved the music. It certainly is a spectacular scene of the beach.

I never watched the movie, but the view is fantastic! I wonder how different it is now from your photo.

I loved the melody of that song and it is now flitting through my brain and probably will be doing that all day.
Nice shot. MB

I saw that film in the 60s — very beautiful; very sad.
