This is my post for Skywatch Friday, a meme for sharing views of the sky from all over the world. To see more, or to join and share your own photos of the sky, click HERE.
When Betsy and I went to Georgia this past Monday, we came off the Cumberland Plateau, drove through part of the Sequatichie Valley, and then drove over Signal Mountain to Chattanooga. As we drove up the mountain I couldn’t resist the temptation to stop at an overlook and snap these pictures.
It was raining when we left home, although the weather started to clear as we drove along. When we got to the overlook there was some blue in the sky, although the Plateau was still covered by clouds.
The clouds had lifted enough that we had a wonderful view of the valley.

That is a great view from the lookout (Ausssie for overlook). I love the names of the valleys and mountains…Are they native names?

This is a wonderful series of shots, George. I didn’t know mountains had fluffy white blankets to cover their peeks.
Another one of natures beautiful inventions!
Have a happy (<: weekend, George

I love the great clouds and of course the fact that they lifted so you could see the beautiful valley. MB

Beautiful photos, especially the one where the mountains are covered in clouds! All the best from Anette in Norway 🙂

George, the clouds sure are interesting, but I am fascinated with the patchwork of fields in the foregrounds, with all the trees getting into their fall finery!

The most dramatic is the first picture!! I think there are people over there lost in The Twilight Zone!

In spite of the heavy cloud cover, you still got beautiful views of the colorful valley. Looks like fall is well underway in that lovely valley. Thanks for stopping by George!
