The Walled Garden (so-called because it is surrounded by a wall) at Biltmore is a formal garden with symmetrical flower beds arranged in patterns. When we were there last week, most of the blooming flowers were tulips.
Most of the beds contained two varieties of tulips, selected for their complementary colors. Sometimes the differences in the shades were subtle, as in this bed of purple tulips.
The tulip beds at Biltmore were a riot of rich and beautiful color.

Oh how I LOVE tulips!! I haven’t ever planted them but we have a new neighbor as of last week and she is very knowledgeable with plants so I am hoping to learn from her and possibly plant them for the first time 🙂 We shall see! 🙂 Hope you are feeling well!

The middle one is my favorite, because we just don’t see purple tulips here! I guess people don’t like them as much so they don’t buy them.

Those tulips are fabulous – must have been something to see them all in person.

I can hardly imagine what this would like in person.
Your photos are beautiful! I love the purple ones. Those are unique in color. I think I’d like to see some pink thrown in for good measure. I’m guessing the Biltmore wouldn’t want my opinion though. 🙂
