With all the technology we have in our lives — computers, smart phones, the world wide web, satellite television — it sometimes feels as if we are all living at a fast pace in a large city. But of course, that’s not true.
Some of us are fortunate enough to live a slower-paced life in a rural area. The Plateau of Tennessee is one of those places. One of our favorite areas up here is Grassy Cove south of Crossville. Driving some of the back roads is almost like going back in time.
These pictures were taken back in July. Green grass, blue skies, mountains, and a red barn. Life can’t get much better than this.

The weather looks perfect and I love old barns. Beautiful skies, green grass… and not a single skyscraper. Excellent!

Thanks for posting this. We went thru there several years ago and I remember being impressed with the valley farm land, but had no idea until this that it had a name and was a special place.

Beautiful. It also looks so much warmer than my world is today. I think I’m becoming a wimp, because I sure don’t enjoy the cold anymore.

Wonderful photo — such a gorgeous sky in that second one. Whenever we visit Tennessee, I’m always impressed with how green it is — at all times of year, it seems.

In my humble opinion, you have the best of both worlds if the you have the technology at the tip of your fingers and at the same time have this lovely pastoral setting as your home.
have a lovely week.

These scenes can transport us back to another time when maybe farm work was hard but life was simpler and being happy came from the small things in life.
Gorgeous scenes George!

It looks like some place i know. Maybe our fields somehow looks like that, it is just that yours are so wide which really needs tractors to prepare the land. People in the cities now seek these rural setting.
