SkyWatch Friday: Icy Trees, Blue Skies

Icy tree branches on a beautiful winter day, Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. January 31, 2010.

This is my post for Skywatch Friday, a meme for sharing views of the sky from all over the world.  To see more, or to join and share your own photos of the sky, click HERE.

We’ve had a mild winter so far this year, and I’m not complaining,  But I will admit that snow — and even ice — can be beautiful as long as I don’t have to drive in it.  I took this picture in our yard a couple of years ago, and thing the icy branches look good against the blue sky.

The lacy branches look great against the blue sky. Snow and ice can make beautiful scenes but I hate what it does to your nose and toes.

Snow is beautiful if it only stays around for a few days like ours did a few weeks back. And we didn’t get the icey stuff that Seattle and south of there got. MB

It’s been mild here to George. In fact I think you’ve had more snow than me.
We had ice one day but the sky was so grey and no sun I couldn’t get the lovely kind of shot you show here!
Hope you and Betsy are having a wonderful weekend.

Gorgeous shot! Yes, winter can be a beautiful thing to look at — but I really hate getting out in the cold. So far, our winter has been almost snow-free, and that’s just the way I like it!
