We traveled to West Virginia to celebrate my birthday earlier this month. It was a very wonderful trip, and we were rewarded with several new waterfalls for our ‘collection’.
While driving toward Gauley Bridge on SR 16, we came upon two waterfalls on Laurel Creek. The road follows the creek here, and it was very easy to find both waterfalls. Of course we just had to stop and get some pictures. This is a photo of the Upper (larger) Waterfall on Laurel Creek.

It is beautiful, but i wish it is longer at the bottom to see how it went. It looks like abruptly cut in that photo.

I know exactly where this is. 🙂
To get this shot you must have crawled over the guardrail and down the bank. You were lucky to be there after seasonal rainfall. I usually see it in summer and it trickles then.
Your perspective makes it look higher than its twenty-five feet or so.
Nice work George!

imagine how much power is generated from the falls. people are not allowed to harness them as it will cause environmental problem.
A dam in my home country has become a white elephant.
