This is my post for Skywatch Friday, a meme for sharing views of the sky from all over the world. To see more, or to join and share your own photos of the sky, click HERE.
Betsy and I drove the Foothills Parkway in October so we could enjoy some of the Smokies’ autumn color. As we drove home in, Betsy was able to get some pictures of the evening sky as we drove up onto the Plateau. As you can see from the photo above, the sunset was spectacular.
Even after the sun dropped below the Plateau on the west, the sky continued to put on a show.
The variety of cloud forms and colors was amazing.
Each passing moment seemed to bring new color and forms — even the trail of a passing jet.

You would have had a field day here yesterday with “Skywatch”.
The biggest and most ferocious storm for 20 minutes I have ever seen. Lightning strikes all over and then thunder claps where again the sky, virtually blew up. The rain came not down but straight at you like bullets, and the course of the rain went from west/east, then south/north and finally east/west. 20 minutes of mayhem and destruction. A lessor one from 7.30am till midnight, the sky was ablaze with lightning and thunder which shook my apartment block.
Now(Sunday – 1.30pm) another one – hopefully less severe??
Your shots are nice, the things here are amazing but not nice.
Cheers
