All of the images are from my archives, scanned from slides. Back in 1987 I was able to spend several days on Bali. Bali was just about everything you could imagine for a south sea island paradise. The skies, and the sunsets especially, were spectacular. These photos were taken at Kuta Beach Resort.

Lovely tropical island shots. Parts of Bali are not the place to be these days. Loads of loud uncontrolled drunk or stoned hooligans from Australia and elsewhere haunt the streets and bars on Kuta Beach. There was a shooting there yesterday involving 2 Aussies and a Dane. Two Germans were accidentally hurt. Apparently back in the highlands and less touristy ares are still nice.

How beautiful! I especially love the shot of the sunset, with the pool in the foreground and the palm trees and ocean in the background. I see that your aptitude for photography is not a recent thing. 🙂

As you know ( I think) I just returned from Bali. I am so glad I was shooting digital. I need to look into scanning some of my negatives. Ugggg- Glad to see you have scanned some of your non-digital images. Great photos.

Bali is truely magnificent. Kuta is not these days.
The other side where Sanur and Nusa Beach are these
days is safe and truely magnificent. My first trip to Bali
was in 1982 and I went on an excursion from the Hyatt at
Sanur for two hours to see Kuta Beach. It was 1 hour 58
minutes too long. But Bali certainly does have magical sunrises and
sunsets. Glad you enyoyed the overseas outer suburbs of Perth
and Darwin. Bali is “riddled” with Aussies.
