This is my post for Skywatch Friday, a meme for sharing views of the sky from all over the world. To see more, or to join and share your own photos of the sky, click HERE.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is beautiful in any season and in any weather. Cloudy weather may mean you can’t see as far into the distance as on a sunny day, but on a cloudy day it sometimes seems you can reach up and touch the clouds.
These pictures, from my archives, were taken on a cloudy August day at Waterrock Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway. These photos were taken while hiking from the parking area to an overlook higher on the knob.

that first photo is so beautiful, it has the smokey looking mountains, the turbulent gray skies and best of all the LIVE Christmas trees. i love the look of those trees against the sky

Now THESE are awesome pictures of the clouds and mountains, they BOTH look great. I think I do not have any like this, and I LIVE here. It is a rare time when everything comes together like this to look so great. Now you are making me want to go up to the outlook, I think I will be making some trips there. BUT rain all week and the next five or six days!!

Love the first shot with the wild meadow in front. They all look great when enlarged. The light on the forming thunderhead in the last shot is great too.

Pretty with the clouds too.
Tornado warning here currently. Passing time in the basement reading garden blogs. Prepared but trying not to worry.
