I won’t claim that Betsy and I have a grand master plan for our yard, but we do try to have color in the yard in each season. Irises provide color between the Spring bulbs (daffodils and tulips) and our roses.
We have several different varieties in our yard — the collage above shows five of them. In the top row I have Clarence iris on the left and Waltz Across Texas on the right.
The bottom row shows (from left to right) Cantina, Blatant and Tennessee Vol. It should be no surprise that Tennessee Vol is Betsy’s favorite — she’s one of the most dedicated University of Tennessee Volunteers fans you will ever meet.

My favourite non-native flowers!! Cantina is my favourite – for some reason I’m attracted to the darkest of dark purple. Maybe that’s because there aren’t so many RED ones …

They are each lovely and that’s great that you have Tennessee Vol in your garden! Have a good day, George.

They’re all beautiful, but I’m partial to the Blatant. I love its combination of colors.

Wonderful George! I have been noticing a lot of the wild ones on our walks lately and would love to start planting some in our garden. Have a great day!

The Iris are blooming out this way too. They make such a statement in the yards. We don’t have any—I think it is about time……MB
