This is my post for Skywatch Friday, a meme for sharing views of the sky from all over the world. To see more, or to join and share your own photos of the sky, click HERE.
One evening last month, as the sun was setting, I noticed an unusual pink-purple cast to the sky. The sun had dropped below the Plateau, but the sky above our house seemed to be getting brighter and more vibrant.
Of course I grabbed my camera and headed outside. There were clouds overhead, and I tried to capture the light and shadows in that pink-purple sky.
I really don’t think these photos do justice to that amazing sky, but I like them well enough that I wanted to share them with you.

I find that cloud and sky cloud pictures rarely do justice to the way it really looks. But these must come close. i have never seen a purple sky before!!! This is really amazing!! After going back and forth for quite awhile, I think the last one is my favorite.

Our photographs can never adequately capture the beauty of such skies, but we do the best we can; and the results help us remember what it was like. These shots are beautiful. I’d have liked to see that sky in person.

How amazing is Mother Nature. I love pink skies!!! Whenever we get those sunsets that are a combo of pink and blue, I refer to them as ‘baby shower’ skies! LOL!

Amazing colour. I know what you mean about not doing justice to the scene. I often feel that a picture fails to convey the true beauty.
