My Beautiful Bride is unhappy because we haven’t gotten much snow this winter — only two measurable snowfalls so far.  I’ve been trying to tell her that things could be worse, but I’m not sure she believes me.

So I thought I would show her things could be worse.  These pictures were taken in February, 2012, on a walk on one of the trails here in the Glade.  As you can see, it was a beautiful sunny day without a cloud in the sky.

We walked around Lake Sherwood, and admired the reflections in the still water of the lake.  All-in-all it was a beautiful day.  And there wasn’t a snowflake in sight.

YES—I know that things could be much worse. At least, we haven’t had to shovel or sweep or get stuck in TOO much snow…. SO—I say “Bring on Spring”… BUT–first, I need some of that sunshine like you showed in 2012 photos. We haven’t seen the sun here in a long time it seems.
    Love you,
    Wifey

I am ready for some weather like this! I think I have had enough snow to last me for a couple years. But we at least have had sun fairly regularly, so I won’t complain too much. I had rather have snow and some sun ever two or three days as to go for weeks without any sun.

  3. Karin Says:

I could handle a walk around there enjoying these gorgeous reflections – unfortunately we’re bundled up against the bitter cold after our reprieve in Jan. I’ve heard the pineapple express is coming though – hope that brings some warmer air!

  4. Linda at To Behold The Beauty Says:

Your photos are marvelous and the reflections just stunning. We’re getting all the snow that you’re missing. We had 10 inches last Tuesday, then four more on Saturday; and that was on top of the foot or so we already had. We haven’t had a winter like this in ages. But it’s beautiful.

The water looks so still and that sky is striking! We walked yesterday around one of the four lakes here in Columbia. It began snowing when we were almost around. The snow was a surprise — not a lot – but a surprise nonetheless.

George, you live in a beautiful area. The lake and reflections are lovely.. I wish I could send Betsy some of our snow! Have a happy week!

  16. Honest Abe Says:

We could give you some snow or ice. Plenty of it around here this winter. It reminds me of the winters we had in the early 1940s when the main streets froze over and lasted all winter. That was in the days before road salt or snow plows. Never saw those but they did use coal stove cinders at intersections so people could stop on ice.

  17. Linda G. Says:

What a beautiful lake to walk around! You and Betsy are welcome to come visit here. We have plenty of snow.
