Skywatch Friday 24

fairfieldsunset08122201

After several days of clouds and rain, it was nice to have a clear day and to be able to see the sun.

Late in the day I walked along the golf cart path on the back nine of the Druid Hills Golf Course here in the Glade to the twelfth tee, which is one of the higher points on the course with a view to the west.  I got there too late to see the setting sun, but I did find this beautifully painted sky.

A beautiful sight. We also enjoyed clear skies and warm temps in the mid 60’s today. Thanks for sharing this lovely, peaceful photo.

Ruth, one thing about God’s paintings is that they don’t repeat. Each one is unique and beautiful in its own right.

Mildred, it didn’t get quite that warm here on the Plateau, but it certainly was beautiful.

Back in my Cape Cod days, I have the fondest memories of walking the walk on course for a few holes after work, with the darkness and cold closing in. It was a rolling course, and had some views of the Atlantic.

Not always is the main actor the star of the show. Sometimes what we deem to be a bit player steals it away. So with your sunset, not the sun , but the light itself was the star of that evening. It is light that gives us colour and definition of all things. Without it we would be groping in the darkness like blind moles.

Lovely colors reflected in the sky. Golf courses are surprisingly good for photography, aren’t they?
