The picture above was taken in the early afternoon in June, 2001, on Little River Inlet in South Carolina. The trees are on Little River Neck, a narrow strip of land between the inlet (part of the Intracoastal Waterway) and the Atlantic Ocean. The clouds are forming over the ocean. You can click on the picture to enlarge it.
I lived in the town of Little River, South Carolina, from 1998 – 2000. Beautiful clear skies in the morning and early afternoon were often followed by clouds and a sea breeze in the afternoon, making for a very pleasant environment.
Betsy and I were on a cruise from Little River out into the Atlantic Ocean when this picture was taken.

That’s a nice SWF shot. It warms me up! Not that I need warming up; it’s plenty warm out here in CA unlike in many other parts of the country. Happy SWF

That is very beautiful George. It looks especially inviting as I write this since in is -4 here as I write it. What’s funny is that I just checked Fairbanks, Alaska and it’s 34 up there. 🙂

I love it…it looks like the clouds are extensions of the trees themselves. Great.

As Neal said, that looks very inviting compare to the cold wave we are having now. Add to that the fact that I love to see a bank of clouds like that…a winner all the way around.

So flat looking…..different than we are here. I heard on the way home it was 7 then. I get a little colder than Knoxville, and I know you do too.

What lovely open, green countryside. It’s so flat too so you get a really big sky. I like the idea of a cruise down there..

Little River 😀
Looks like a big river to me. In fairness blue sky is gorgeous and this picture so clearly demonstrates that. But what really makes the picture is the clouds rising up in the background. Such cotton wool clouds.
I bet you enjoyed the cruise and got a nice tan to take home with you.

Never aware you are participating in sky watch. Little River is a good name for a town. Nice sky watch entry.

I love how tight those clouds are to the horizon and cuddled up with the trees, then a vast blue sky above. Lovely
