This is my posting for the My World meme, which last week had 102 people sharing their worlds with us. To join in, click HERE.
As most of you know, my beautiful bride loves snow. She has been disappointed by the lack of snow this winter. But we finally got some during the day on Monday, as you can see from the picture above. So Betsy is now feeling a little happier, although she’s hoping for an additional 3 or 4 inches!
I have to admit that I’m not as enthusiastic about the snow as Betsy is. The picture also shows a part of one of our rose beds, and the roses sure do look cold. I want to see them green and in bloom!
I know Betsy would like to have more snow, so I tried to make it look as if we had more snow than we actually did by taking this close up of snow on the jasmine bush.
My world this week was gray, cloudy and cold. I’m hoping it will be brighter, sunnier and warmer next week!

Ah Honey—I’m trying to make a ‘snow bunny’ out of you!!!!! I guess it was all of those years up there in Crown Point, Indiana, when you had to shovel snow –that has turned you against it!!! ME????? I still love it–and was thrilled to see it today!!!! Yeah-Diddly!!!
Love you anyway, Wifey

Nice pictures! In a way I like snow – but now a days I long for spring! But nice to see other places with snow, even if I have a lot of it these days!
Greetings from Norway/Oslo.

For Betsy I hope you get more snow!

You guys got snow & we didn’t? Hmmm – well, we got it Friday – but it’s suppose to snow here again tonight!

I was wondering how much you got. Knew you probably got more than I did in the valley below you. I was in Rockwood this morning, out taking photos, next thing I knew it was disappearing. Suppose to be real cold tonight, so worried about ice in the morning. I have a photography assignment tomorrow morning, so I have to get out earlier than usual.

I’m hoping to see a very fat snowman on Betsy’s blog tomorrow! Maybe she will get those 4 more inches and you can help her build it.

Mildred, it has to warm up before we can make any snowmen. Also, it needs to warm up a few degrees for the snow to pack.

Betsy wants snow, come to RI.
Tell Betsy she is welcomed to visit Rhode Island where yesterday we accumulated an additional 10 inches on top of the previous 12inches.
It is so high my Buddy, who is 16inches high cannot do his business except at the bottom of the front stairs and along the 2foot wide pathway to the car on the side of the building. Our snow blower is broken and there is just too much to be shovel.
When will I see the ground again?
I am ready to move south.

So much of snow actually thrills me because here I don’t get to see them at all. But then I hope this cold passes over soon for you and let your days be more sunny.

I have to agree with Betsy on this one, George. 🙂 I like snow too, just not the cold that has to go with it! Thanks for sharing yours.

George: Well, good for Betsy, she got her snow. We have so much snow it looks like it is here to stay with nothing above freezing znd no Sun.

The snow is beautiful. But after the holidays, I’m usually finished with winter. Unfortunately, it isn’t finished!
January 20, 2009 at 9:46 pm |
Louise, I agree with you. A white Christmas is nice, but after that I’ve had enough.
January 19, 2009 at 11:59 pm |
That’s more snow than I’d want to see! Hope Betsy enjoys it.
January 20, 2009 at 12:01 am |
At least it looks like your snow stayed in place….I bet it was beautiful down there.

i like the sun but snow is not bad at all. We never experience snow here in malaysia but i spent 6 years in California. Although there wasn’t much snow where i lived in CA but i did visit places with abundant snow. Cold! Brrr ….
January 20, 2009 at 7:09 am |
I’m with you! Give me the sun anytime. I will never survive the north’s climate and weather, honestly. Hope your wish gets granted!
January 20, 2009 at 7:50 am |
I wish Betsy loads of snow! We can also use some of it. We only had ice, which was good for skating and white frost, which was very beautiful, but all has gone now.
January 20, 2009 at 8:00 am |
I’m with Betsy, I would love some snow! Without cold temperatures the spring bulbs don’t flourish, and roses don’t mind the cold, they need a rest period too.

If not next week, soon.

It may have been gray, cloudy and cold…but the pictures look gorgeous. All clean and fresh!!!

Hi George,
Great shot of the snow. I’m with you, I want green, sunshine and warm temps. Thanks for stopping by my place. Have a great day!!

Looks like you got a good bit George. I know Betsy mus be happy but I’m with you. I need green, warm sunshine and blooms.

Still waiting for the snow. Nothing but dreary rain and grey days. Gorgeous world under a white blanket.
January 20, 2009 at 9:43 pm |
babooshka, I agree that grey, rainy days are even worse than snow. I hope you get better weather soon.
January 20, 2009 at 10:05 am |
So glad you got your snow! Now you & Betsy need to make a snowman!
January 20, 2009 at 9:40 pm |
Shelley, it’s been to cold to make a snowman. I was out getting some firewood and I couldn’t even make a snowball to throw at Betsy. Bummer!
January 20, 2009 at 10:45 am |
Yeah, you got snow!! Great photos!!
January 20, 2009 at 10:50 am |
I am with you on the snow George ~ I’m ready for spring to be here. Lovely photos!
January 20, 2009 at 12:40 pm |
Im like you George, dont like snow much – only to photograph it.lol.
Great pics and enjoyable post.
January 20, 2009 at 1:19 pm |
Snow makes for pretty photos but the reality is so much messier, colder and wetter. I’m with George on this one..
January 20, 2009 at 2:54 pm |
I’d say that looks just about right and she should be glad it quit when it did! I like a nice dusting that doesn’t effect the roads…..just to look pretty. But I don’t want it for long. Lovely post of where you live!
January 20, 2009 at 4:39 pm |
I have plenty and can send as much as you like….
January 20, 2009 at 5:17 pm |
I also keep saying that I have at least 5 feet of snow backed up against my building that I would LOVE to give up if you are ok with sending a big truck out this way… =D
January 20, 2009 at 9:37 pm |
Michele, if Betsy reads this she will probably have a truck on the way!
January 20, 2009 at 6:00 pm |
Lovely photograph you’re shared of your world today. You certainly have more snow that I’m likely to see any time soon. On a clear day I can see white on the top of our coastal mountains … I’m just hoping for rain later this week now that the winds have shifted from off to on shore again ;–)
Hugs and blessings,
January 20, 2009 at 9:36 pm |
storyteller, I hope you get your rain. I think I would like snow a little better if I could see it only on the tops of mountains.
January 20, 2009 at 7:04 pm |
George,
I’m with you…I am so ready to see green and feel warmer temps! The snow is quite lovely to look but I’m bored with it in a matter of a few min. Maybe if I close my eyes and wish real hard…lol..yea right!
January 20, 2009 at 7:56 pm |
Roses will bloom again as the song goes! But for now Betsy should be all smiles.
January 20, 2009 at 9:33 pm |
Karen, as I mentioned, Betsy would like to see several more inches of snow. But I think even she would like to have it a few degrees warmer (as long as the snow could remain)!
January 20, 2009 at 9:00 pm |
I’m with you George I can live without snow, makes me wonder though why we chose to live in Canada???

I would probably be happy of snow only for a few days for picture-taking, and the experience. Afterwhich, i’d be hankering for my tropical, sunny days 🙂
