This is my post for the My World meme.  It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and Fishing Guy.  To see more of our world or to join and share your part of the world, click HERE.

Most of you know that Betsy and I grow roses.  But we have other flowers as well.  This week most of our lilies are in full bloom.  These lilies are opposite a sliding door to the deck and when the house is open the fragrance inside is heavenly.

That is a gorgeous photo. I think it should be on a calendar featuring lilies.

Oh how I love the smell of garden lilies!

  3. Hilda Says:

I have to confess that I like lilies much better than roses. They are so flamboyant, a single bloom can light up an entire room!

  4. Fishing Guy Says:

George: Very nice colors on the lilies.
BTW: How did you miss my number on Betsy’s blog?LOL

  5. nadia Says:

Those are amazingly beautiful! Should definitely be on a calendar.

  6. Suz Says:

    Your lillies are so pretty!!
I think you have a green HAND as opposed to a thumb!

  7. Sylvia Kirkwood Says:

Beautiful photos of exquisite lilies! I agree with Suz, I think you have a green hand!

  8. Martha Says:

Yes the lillies are in bloom. They do better for me than roses. I too have one taller than me but that’s not saying much as I’m only 5’2″.

  9. Snap Says:

I love lilies — oriental and day … gorgeous. Thank you!

  10. MaryBeth Says:

Yes I bet the fragrance is glorious. When i worked at a nursery and we had a booth at the Flower and Garden Show held once a year in Seattle, our big draw was a Stargazer Lily bulb. One dollar for one Bulb. Those bulbs were the size of an extra large Avacado. when planted they would stand 8+feet tall and they too were glorious.

I love all your pics of your various lilies. They are beautiful. MB

  11. Latane Says:

    Those are gorgeous George!

  13. Arija Says:

George, I foo grow Lilies in conjunction with my Roses and the mixture of scents with added Orambe blosson is just mind boggling.

  14. NCMountainwoman Says:

I love lilies but only when they are outside. The scent makes me sick when they are indoors. Needless to say, I have lots of trouble with Easter services because of that.

  15. Rose Says:

This is a nice shot….I have really come to love lilies, too. I have some that need to be moved but need to look up when to move them.

  16. Tarolino, Finland Says:

Such magnificent blossoms. Lilies are the most showy flowers I know. I really love them. These are gorgeous George.
Also thanks for your support in my sorrow. It has meant a lot to me.

  17. LEEDRA Says:

Your lilies are still looking good. My Asiatic lilies are gone for the season and the orientals have not started, but the daylilies are coming on. Have you 2 ever been to the Oakes Daylilies Festival in Corryton? It is June 26 & 27.

  18. Michele Says:

GASP!!! These are absolutely stunning!! You two are amazing at growing anything you put your heart at!

  19. storyteller Says:

Oh my … methinks I need to go in search of WHITE lily bulbs! Mine are orange.
    Hugs and blessings,
