Yesterday (Sunday) afternoon was absolutely gorgeous here on the Plateau and both Betsy and I spent as much time outside as we could. Fortunately there is always something that needs to be done around the yard, so we have plenty of excuses for being out.
We have alot of color in our yard now and it is not only daffodils. I think the flower up above is a narcissus, but since my Dad gave them to us when we moved up here, we usually call them Dad Adams Daffodils.

We have not had a great deal of success with hyacinths. They never seem to do as well after the first year. However we did have a few pop up and bloom. They may not look all that wonderful, but they still have a nice fragrance.

We’ve been very fortunate with our tulips so far this year. The bright tulip above is Life’s a Cabernet, which is new. It is multi-colored, but red predominates.

I think my favorite new tulip is Halley’s Comet. I got this picture early one morning before the sun caused them to open completely.
With all this beauty around us I guess you can understand why we enjoy spending so much time out in the yard.

You do have a beautiful yard and spending time outside enjoys it would be just the right thing to do. My tulips are not blooming yet—while everywhere around me they are. Go figure! MB

Those are such gorgeous blooms! So far, we haven’t had any tulips around here yet, but the daffodils were lovely this year. And the azaleas are just now starting to pop out. It would be a really wonderful time of year if it wasn’t for all that pollen making me sneeze and cough and scratch!

Those first flowers sure look like daffodils to me! I don’t think I’ve ever seen any hyacinths around here, they’re a rareity. Maybe because they are hard to grow?

Loved my walk through your garden this morning! The fragrance of the hyacinth is quite heady – I can’t bring those into the house – too overpowering in a closed space. But outside, fantastic!

With all those flowers around I might never go inside.Somehow the spring flowers seem brighter than those that bloom later.Maybe it’s just because we have all waited so long for them.

Love all the blooms, especially the tulips at the end. I never seem to have much luck with tulips. They come up one year and never come back.
