Watery Wednesday #95: Tellico River

Tellico River, Cherokee National Forest, Tennessee. June 18, 2010.

This is my post for Watery Wednesday.  To see more of our beautiful watery world, or to join and post your own pictures to share, click HERE.

It’s been hot and dry here on the Plateau in Tennessee.  I can’t think of anything more refreshing on days like this than to sit on a rock and soak my feet in a fast-flowing mountain river.  This is the Tellico River as it flows through the Cherokee National Forest in eastern Tennessee.

What a beautiful picture. Don’t you know that water would feel so refreshing on these hot, dry days we are experiencing?

A little bit of rain does not sound bad either. But I would love to wade and play here, too.

Everytime I see watery photos like this I think how awful it must be to live in dry areas. I know some like the desert….like my sister…but I just can’t stand not having plenty of water and green stuff! Beautiful shot!

How refreshing isn’t the sight of running water through lushious greenery on a day like this when the brow gets humid from the heat and the air stands still.
    Thankyou for this cooling moment.
