Although some parts of the country have gotten some relief from the impressive heat, that relief hanse’t reached the Plateau here in East Tennessee. So I’m looking at pictures from other seasons hoping to feel a little cooler.
The picture above was taken on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina this past October. I like the mountain ridges receding into background. The picture shows why these mountains are called the Blue Ridge.

Yes, it’s the background that makes this special. Three beautiful layers of blue.

The scene goes on and on beautifully!
It’s still humid here with a chance of storms everyday through Tuesday.
I could use one day of fall. 🙂

Mountains are so much more photogenic than the flat fields we have in our polder landscape.
Thanks for your visit to our Remembrance Day.

That is beautiful. I’ve got some shots almost identical and like you I like the mountains receding in the background.

i was hoping i would feel cooler looking at it, but it did not work for me either. it is soooooo hot down here. i have noticed a lot of blogs are discussing heat and all over the world, not just here.

We’ve been feeling the heat too.
My grandsons both had football jamboree this past weekend–the hottest weekend of the year so far. And the girls were at a horse event and everybody–horses too–survived. MB
