The autumn colors are just about gone here on the Plateau. As the picture above shows, the trees around our house are mostly bare. Betsy and I worked hard on picking up leaves Friday and Saturday, so the yard looks pretty good right now. Of course, if the wind blows from the wrong direction, the leaves in the vacant lots will be in our yard. Oh, well, we’ll just enjoy how good it looks as long as we can.

Reckon we can’t do anything about the neighbors trees George. All you have to do is look in my back yard.

We got rid of all the leaves, too, then yesterday the wind picked up and we got a lot of them back in the yard along with about four inches of snow!! Winter has come early this year! It’s supposed to get down to 14 degrees tonight!! But fortunately our cold spells don’t usually last for very long and next week we should be back in the 40s, but with more snow on the way. I suspect this is going to be one of those record breaking winters for the northwest! Enjoy your week! Hope you don’t have to rake too many more leaves!!

Where I live half of the trees have lost their leaves, and the other half are still carrying around the green proudly. Last year these same trees changed color and peaked during Christmas and NY, that late 🙂

Did you have a hard time keeping Betsy working? 🙂 Your yard really looks good. Now if we could only go to spring. 🙂

Looking great – but like you said, if the wind blows from the wrong side, you’ve got to do it all over again. I’m sure this keeps you all in shape for your hikes!! Enjoy!

I have such fond memories of picking up leaves during this time of year. Now, mind you I didn’t have to do this all the time as it wasn’t my house LOL But when I was with my Nana I would help and then she would allow me to go inside and place some of the pretty leaves between wax paper and iron them in the wax paper to keep! I can still smell if now 🙂 Your yard looks great!

Your yard looks very nice. I hope not too many leaves blow in from the vacant lot!
