Watery Wednesday #118: Marigot Bay

Marigot Bay, St. Martin, taken from Fort Louis. September 11, 2001.

This is my post for Watery Wednesday.  To see more of our beautiful watery world, or to join and post your own pictures to share, click HERE.

Wintery weather has kept us close to home for the past couple of weeks, so I went to my archives to get this picture of Marigot Bay on the island of St. Martin/Sint Maarten.  This island is split into two parts — one French, the other Dutch.  The picture was taken at ruins Fort Louis above Marigot, the capital of the French St. Martin.

Good idea to dig out photos of warm places when the cold weather keeps you indoors.

What a beautiful place! And a terrific capture! Love the color of the water! It is great to have photo archives when the weather makes getting out more of a pain than pleasure! I do so relate! Have a great day, George!

This is so pretty that I had to click on it. What is that square stone thing in the foreground? The blue of the water is wonderful, I notice that way farther out, it turns an even deeper shade. Wonder why it is so deserted?

I look out my window and see snow. Sometimes I feel as though we live inside a snow globe! Then I look at your picture of the lovely blue water. What a contrast!
