We were treated to a spectacular sunrise on our last morning at Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. We had an ocean view room at the Islander Inn, and the sun came up just about opposite our balcony. The rising sun seems like an appropriate first post for the new year, and so I share it with you.

What brilliant colors in that sunrise! Very fitting start to a new year! Loved the moon eclipse from yesterday too! We had ice fog and cloud so there was no point in staying up or getting up – had I wanted to. Glad to see it on your post though! Thanks George!

Gorgeous sunrise! I, too, thought of posting a picture of the sunrise for the first day of the new year. I got up early; the sun did not cooperate though!
