As you know, Monday night – Tuesday morning of last week was somewhat special. We had an eclipse of the full moon.
Betsy and I saw the full moon when we went out to dinner Monday night. But since we had had a long drive that day, we went to bed before the eclipse began. However, we got up about 3 o’clock in the morning and went out to see the tail end of the eclipse. The picture above was taken at that time on Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina.

What a terrific shot, George! It was cloudy here, but I did get a great shot of the full moon as it was setting the next morning when the clouds had cleared — for a couple of hours!! Happy, Happy New Year to you both!!

We had clouds, too, so did not even think of setting the alarm to see it. I have to rely on the photos of others!

That is such a gorgeous photo! We missed the eclipse, darn it. I was going to get up and take a look, but forgot to set the alarm. But I’ve seen it on video and it was truly amazing.
Happy New Year to you and Betsy!

And you said it wasn’t a very good photo!!! It’s great, George! I read somewhere there’s going to be a solar eclipse within a year or two. Wonder if we can capture that without going blind???
Happy New Year to both of you!

I failed to see the eclipse this year. I am glad you captured it so well and shared it. At least, I have an idea what it was all about. Take care George, and keep enjoying life to the fullest.

Wow, George!! You got that eclipse, it is stunning!!! This may be my favorite picture of yours ever! We tried to get it with no luck. It was cloudy, But we tried around 1:30. The weatherman (who I blame for this) said it wouldn’t start till 1:30, but that wasn’t true!

Great shot George. I took some pics too but could not get the rusty color to show up. I think it was because it was overcast but I least i saw the eclipse. It started out her around 10:45 SO i WAS STILL UP. mb

You lucky people! We could not get a glimpse of the moon at all because the sky was over cast.
I wish you and Betsy a very happy and healthy 2011. May we all have a year without major disasters.

That’s a wonderful shot! I watched the beginnings of the eclipse from the west coast, so I didn’t have to stay up so late. It was truly amazing. Didn’t get any shots though…happy new year to you and yours. Looking forward to visiting your blogs this year…

I did not know we had an eclipse of the moon…but then I feel like I have been living in an alternate world for a while.
