This is my post for Skywatch Friday, a meme for sharing views of the sky from all over the world. To see more, or to join and share your own photos of the sky, click HERE.
I went to my archives for this picture of a cloudy sky. The picture was taken in Hong Kong at Repulse Bay. Before I went there the first time, I thought Hong Kong was nothing but crowded streets and high-rise apartments — this scenic spot was a pleasant surprise. The pretty sky was a nice bonus.
The picture above was scanned from a slide.

I love white puffy clouds in a blue sky.
I wonder how the bay got it’s name!

That beauty of a pic was scanned from an old slide? Amazing. Some of my old slides degenerated in quality over time – probably because of the nature of the films I used and the way I kept the slides.

Gorgeous clouds and a terrific capture for the day, George! That isn’t the usual view you see in photos from Hong Kong! I love it! The bay does have an unusual name. Hope you have a great weekend!

Well, you know my question is coming, don’t you George? Why such a horrible name? I would never visit a place named that! But it sure isn’t repulsive. Maybe that word has pretty connotations in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong? Oh WoW!
That’s a great sky you shot! =)

Wow, that sky is really blue! BTW, do you know the reason for the name of the bay?

What an unfortunate name this bay has lol! Good job it does not live up to it, very nice and I have heard this about HK.

I thought the same . HK is full of bustling people and high rise. Glad you found a quiet spot with an interesting sky.

Beautiful! Well you aren’t the only one that imagined Hog Kong that way…that’s the way I’ve always thought about it until now.

That is not a nice name for such a lovely bay!

In 2008 my daughter and I were in Hong Kong where we had to wait for 18 hours. So we had booked a room in a hotel overlooking a bay. After having rested for an hour we made a walk not far from the hotel. It was interesting to walk through those narrow alleys to see how people put buckets outside their houses filled with beautiful plants. The alleys were clean and pleasant to walk on. On the beach however there was a sign reading that the water was polluted. Still one man went for a swim. I found Hong Kong beautiful and clean. The airport is very modern and beautiful.

You are not the first person who has mentioned that Hong Kong has many different ‘faces’, but you are one of the few. This is such a beautiful place!

It is a far cry from being repulsive.
Lovely view George. I’m glad you got to enjoy it.
