There are several island beaches along the North Carolina coast near the South Carolina border. I became familiar with them when I lived in Little River, South Carolina and Betsy and I go back to that area each Spring.
We now go to Ocean Island Beach, but the next island down, Sunset Beach, is also very beautiful. This picture of Sunset Beach was taken in June several years ago.

Oh my George that looks so warm and inviting. I want to dig my toes in the sand.
We had a sprinkling of snow here today after having 69 degrees on Thursday.

Oh, what a gorgeous beach! And, yes, it does look so very warm and inviting! We had gorgeous blue skies and sun yesterday, but when a blogging friend and I went down to the Sound there was so much wind and it was freezing! Not sure how good my photos are as I was shivering and trying to take pictures!! But it was beautiful, with LOTS of whitecaps and deep blue water! Hope you have a great week, George!!

I would love to walk barefoot on this beach – but – I understand that’s not a good idea. I just heard it’s the best exercise for one’s feet and legs to walk in sand, but because there could be foreign and sharp objects its risky to walk barefoot. Now, if only hubby loved the beach, oceans, lakes, rivers, as I do!!

This shot is appealing…doesn’t look like there are too many people there. And I think it is appealing because it is dark and raining here today.

Great shot and it is similar to an Australian beach, with the dunes and white sand.We find it too hot at the beach in Summer and prefer to go in Spring, Autumn or Winter as it is mild and great for walking along the water’s edge.

I LOVE Sunset Beach! We had some wonderful times and loved that it wasn’t soooo crowded like some beaches around there are! I just love seeing your pictures and going back in time 🙂 Thank you for that!
