We’re Home!

Betsy and I have returned from a wonderful 19-day trip out west.  The picture above, which can be enlarged by clicking on it, shows the highlights of our trip.  We drove 5,414 miles, passed through 14 states (counting Tennessee), visited nine National Parks, did some hiking and even saw some waterfalls.  Oh, yes, we also took many, many pictures.

I have to admit that Bryce Canyon was my favorite place — the hoodoos were absolutely fantastic.  But the Grand Canyon was every bit as grand as the name implies.

I think the high points for Betsy were the snow we encountered at both Cedar Breaks and Rocky Mountains National Park.  Six-foot drifts of snow in the June were a treat for my Beautiful Bride.  It almost made up for the snow we didn’t get here last winter.

When I read Betsy’s post about Bryce Canyon I realized that I was there one day before you guys were. Dang! We could’ve had a Bryce Canyon picnik or something.

so glad you are both home safe and sound. that is a lot of miles and a lot of driving, so a true blessing you had no problems on the road, did not get LOST in the USA and got a gazillion photos. i like the soldiers at the top

I love all those places but I’m with Betsy on my favorite of all those. I’ve been to Rocky Mountain NP many times but am always excited when going again. Bryce would be my second pick in all of those even though I thought Cedar Breaks was also very beautiful. I would love to go to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. I prefer the north rim to the south rim but that is because it is not as crowded, at least when we were there.

Welcome home, George! I, too, look forward to all your pictures of your trip. You and Betsy take such beautiful photos.

I used to live in Fort Collins, CO., so went to RMN Park often and loved every minute of it in all seasons.

    Have a great 4th!

So glad to hear you both had a fantastic time and above all a safe trip – not to be taken for granted nowadays with all that traffic increase everywhere! God is good! I really should haul out the photos of our visit to the same area – of course, years ago by now! I’m sure Bryce hasn’t changed and neither has the Canyon. Did you go on that special platform lookout? You’d never catch me on there, lol! Looking forward to seeing more of your trip – keep them coming, they are great photos!
