Full moon behind clouds, Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. August 13, 2011.
We had a full moon on August 13, and I was looking forward to getting a good picture of the moon that evening. Unfortunately, it seemed that Mother Nature had other ideas. The day was very pleasant with a few clouds, but the clouds increased as evening approached.
The moon did a pretty good job of hiding behind the clouds when I first went out, but I noticed that the clouds were moving fairly quickly, so I stayed out with my camera, hoping for the best.

I finally got this almost cloud-free picture. Maybe I’ll have better luck next month.

I believe these are great. The clouds in the first one gives the moon a dramatic look.

Great shots, George! I was in Iowa when the moon was full and it was so beautiful but I didn’t take any pictures. 😦 So I will enjoy yours.

I think these are terrific captures, George. I, too, think there is something delightfully mysterious about the cloudy moon and, of course, I love the other shot as well! Hope your week is off to a great start! Enjoy!

Everyone has full moon pictures, but not many with clouds. God made the clouds as well as the moon, and in my mind they just add to the pictures mystery and beauty!!! Some of my favorite sunset and moon pics have clouds in front.

George I’ve had the same problem. I so wanted to get the orange glow but this time of years the leaves on the trees get in my way along with the clouds. 🙂
