Last week Betsy and I drove along the Foothills Parkway, which is just west of the Smoky Mountains. We were able to enjoy the autumn colors and beautiful views without getting caught in all the traffic of the Smoky Mountains National Park.
The views were spectacular, and I was inspired to try to get a panorama of the scene. The picture above is my first effort, created by merging three photos in Photoshop. I don’t think it looks too shabby, if I do say so myself.

Very, very nice George. I love panoramic pictures….it gives me the sense of actually being there especially when I enlarge it on a big monitor.

That’s a very impressive first attempt at a panorama shot. Of course, with the Smoky Mountains as your subject, how could you go wrong? Seriously, though, you are a very good nature photographer, and this is just one example of your talent.
I hear that “Frankenstorm” Sandy dumped over three feet of snow in the high country there. That would be something to see.
