We had quite a week here in the Glade last week — three storms in a single week is just a bit much.
The ice in the first storm missed us, but we did get snow as you can see in the photo above.
Of course, my Beautiful Bride was delighted.
The second storm brought us some ice with ice covered twigs on the trees …
… and giant icicles.
The icy tree branches shone against a pretty blue sky on Thursday.
Unfortunately the third storm brought a couple of inches of ice with broken tree tops and branches. Our neighborhood looked like a war zone, and we were without power for a couple of days.
I hope it’s a long time before we have another week like this.

I must say George your mountain certainly got more then its share of bad weather. We have had cold like I don’t remember. In the minus teens again this coming week.

This is going to be known as the Winter that wouldn’t go away!

The beauty is definitely there but the destruction is what hurts. Hope you can recover some of the broken trees and not lose them completely.

Yes it was an 11 days in February which we will never forget…. It was not so bad except for that huge ICE STORM with all of the high winds on the 21st. I don’t ever want to see another one of those… Great group of photos.
Love,
Wifey

WOW!! you have had SO much snow!!! I didn’t think anything about that much snow when we lived in Montana — just an ordinary winter, but I’ve been gone from there a long time and would hate to see it today!!! Great photos though, love the blue sky!!!

Oh, I just hate the damage ice does. I’m so sorry , George!

I just saw Betsy’s post George. Amazing weather you’ve been having. These photos are gorgeous and I loved the one of Betsy. Your pretty home with the green siding looks lovely in the snow.

We’ve had at least 3 ice storms since I’ve lived here and I would just as soon not have another. Great shots as always.

Followers just HAVE to enlarge your house to see the amazing details!!! Oh my gosh!! That is my favorite. Followed by that shot of the branch so thickly encased in ice, that really shows how much ice you had!

Hello George, i am glad you are both fine! I can’t imagine how it is with storm during winter. The only thing i can relate with is the pity on your plants burried under that sheet of white. Keep warm both of you.

Though it causes destruction and discomfort with intense cold… the ice and snowfall seems to provide wonderful photo opportunity. Love your house coated in snow 🙂
