In my last post, I told about the week of storms we had February 17 – 23. If you missed that post, you can see it HERE.
Once we got our electricity back on, our biggest concern was the broken tree tops dangling from the trees around our house. Fortunately we were able to get a crew to do the work very efficiently.
One of the men was apparently unafraid of heights (as you can see from the photo above), and scampered up to the breaks and began to cut them free so they could be lowered to the ground. While he was up there he even admired the view he had of the mountains in the distance. I was happy he was up the tree, and not me.

He had to climb three trees to clean up all the breaks. In each case the branches were lowered to the ground where they were cut into smaller pieces so they could be moved more easily.

Finally the smaller pieces were loaded onto their truck and hauled away. As you can see, they had quite a load when they were finished. Now it’s up to Betsy and me to get all the remaining small branches and twigs cleaned up. I don’t think we’ll be bored.

Glad we were able to find a crew so quickly to get those ‘dangling’ limbs down… Many people around here still haven’t had their big limbs cleaned up and picked up. We still have alot of work to do here –but at least, everything left is small… Great set of pictures –and I hope we NEVER have to go through this again!!!!

I pushed like, not because you had terribly damaged trees, but because your post was informative. I’m so sorry for the damage…winter is a hard hard season. 😦

Looks like tough, as well daring joy to climb tree to the height, although he got to enjoy far away view… glad they are quick at reaching end. Getting men for work is not ease thing anywhere I think. Have nice cleaning up activity for you both.

I sure am glad there are people who don’t mind heights. I guess it helps to get paid for being up there,but I don’t think anyone could pay me enough to do that. Ha!Ha!

I’ve watched them do it and find it amazing… but glad it’s them and not me, not even with a harness and not even for the view. No thanks!

Wow….that is admirable to see someone SO not afraid of heights; NOT me either!!!! Take your time with the clean up….I’ll never tell.

Wonderful shots. In our part of the world they trim the trees to keep them at a safe distance from electric wires.
