We’re Helping the Economy

Our new computers. February 20, 2009.

Betsy and I have been doing our part to help the economy.  So if things don’t improve soon, it won’t be because we haven’t been trying.

Yesterday we had to take our Prius into the dealership for her 120,000 mile service.  Let me just say that the service required was fairly major and I’m sure we helped contribute to the paychecks of at least a couple of mechanics.

We then headed over to the Apple store and made a MAJOR contribution to the economy.  We’ve been discussing new computers for over a year now, and we finally decided to take the plunge.  We like our Macintoshes and so we stayed with them.

Now all we have to do is transfer our files from the old computers to the new computers.  Hopefully much of that will be done overnight.  But if you don’t hear from us for a day or two, you know we’ve encountered a problem.

I hope you will not encounter any problems! And congratulations with your new computer! Have a nice weekend! Greetings from a snowy and white Norway…..:)

  2. Kathy Says:

How neat! I just got a new computer last summer. Never used an apple. Hopefully you’ll have less woes than what I do with Windows Vista. Enjoy your new toys. =)

  3. Neal Says:

I used to use Macs all the time. They are more stable than Windows IMO. However, if I got one it would have to be a dual boot system that would run Windows also since there is so much software available on the PC that is not available on the Mac. It an few years I may try a Linux system.

  4. Michele Says:

I’m sure all will go well… see you soon!

  5. Tina Says:

    George,
I LOVE MY MAC…It is the best purchase I ever made, besides my digital camera, of course!! My hubby is still a pc person..but I’ve noticed him sneaking my laptop several nights to create his movies of his rc planes flying..haha
Hope all goes well with your transfer of files!!

  8. JLS Hall Says:

Wow, new toys to play with! That should be fun, if slightly frustrating. I’ve thought of switching to Apple, too – but I really hate to have to learn new computer stuff, so I always talk myself out of it. But maybe one of these days…

  9. Shelley Says:

As someone that had to get a new computer cuz the other one crashed – I think it’s much better to be in the situation to decide you need a new one rather than the computer deciding!! Good luck!

    Congrats to Your new computer!

I have not been using Mac never. My old (4 ½ years) computer is a laptop (Fujitsu Siemens) with wide screen. I take take backups every friday, because I am afraid that it will leave me some day. Also my future computer will be a laptop. I am using it when visiting my country side home and wanna know what’s aroung this world.

Tranferring file must be quite a job, but although You are using a new computer, remember backups George.
