Betsy’s Getting Her Wish!

Our front yard in the early afternoon, Fairfield Glade. January 29, 2010.

I can’t begin to tell you how happy my Beautiful Bride is this morning.  She’s been waiting for almost four years for a day like this.

She actually started smiling Friday afternoon.  It began snowing late Friday morning and by early afternoon the street, driveway and yard were pretty much covered in white as you can see from the picture above.

The wall in front of our house in the late afternoon. January 29, 2010.

But much to Betsy’s delight, it just kept snowing.  By late afternoon we had a couple of inches on the ground.  Even our newly repaired wall looked good in the snow.

Still snowing after dark. January 29, 2010.

Best of all it just kept snowing.  This is what it looked like just before I began writing this post.  I don’t know how much snow we will finally have — it’s supposed to keep snowing until noon Saturday.  Some forecasts say we will have 7 to 9 inches by the time the storm ends.

I predict Betsy will be absolutely giddy today!

I’m grateful for the beauty of newly fallen snow and the way it makes the world seem new and clean.

Im pleased for Betsy, but we had another snow dusting early this morning and I’m now fed up with this white stuff.lol.

My oldest daughter is in TN now. They are having a blast with so much snow. They had some earlier in the year, but not this much. (Except that of course calving season has begun, so they’re cold and wet checking on things.)

Yes, everything looks so clean and fresh.
I LOVE seeing Old Glory amongst all the white. Beautiful.

    Blessings,Ruth

  6. Jen Says:

Enjoy it while you can. I hope the ice stays away.
That photo of the wall is really cool.

Four years?? Has it not snowed in Tenessee in four years? I had no idea! I saw the wall on Betsy’s blog and commented on how it actually looks like artwork with the snow on it. We have the same weather here now. It started last night right after you got yours. Four thirty now and still snowing. We just had to pay roving shovelers to dig us out.

  8. Mary Says:

Looks like you got about the same amount that we did. I’m less happy about it than Betsy, but it did look pretty 🙂 I hope you took her out sleding or made a snowman or something !

  9. Carletta Says:

    I’m so happy for her!
Me too, our forecast was that we wouldn’t see anything but flurries here near the Ohio River – we have two inches.
Glad you made it home safely before the snow came.

  10. Tootie Says:

The snow sure does look beautiful George! I love snow too, it’s just the cold temperatures that have to come with it, that I don’t like.

  11. Karin Says:

I was wondering if you already had the wall done! Great job! And now the lovely snow! I LOVE snow – not the cold, or the icy driving, or the slushy roads when it all melts! Oh well, I can’t have everything! Stay warm and enjoy your week-end. We’re probably in for more cold and snow before spring returns!

  12. Cheryl Says:

I am pleased that the snow is making Betsy happy! I am not quite as happy about anymore snow as here we have already had over two feet this winter and it is very expensive to have driveways plowed! But the snow where you are is beautiful and I am happy that Betsy got her wish! Enjoy the lovely scenery from your cozy home!

  13. Fishing Guy Says:

George: Like I said to Betsy, you now have more snow then we do. We are way colder then you are going into the single digits. Those are some neat photos.

  14. Rose Says:

It’s beautiful! I’m with Betsy. Even though I get tired of dark, dreary days I still love snow.

  15. Linnea Says:

Glad your wife got her snow. Amazing shot of the moon you captured right before the big storm moved in. Stay warm and safe and have fun when it melts away and turns to slush!!

  16. connieemeraldeyes Says:

Nice snow photos George. We got snow too. I love it. I just put up pictures of our snow.

I’m so happy that you two are happy. May your life be always like this: white (from purity) and happy.

  18. MaryBeth Says:

I am glad Betsy is happy with all the snow. We are still having very mild weather—I like it.
I hope you don’t have to do too much shoveling. MB
