As some of you may know, I’ve been trying to learn how to use the manual settings on the new camera I got earlier in the year. I think I’ve managed to get some pretty good pictures in daylight, but nighttime photography is something I’m still working on.
Friday night we had a nice quarter moon in the sky over the Glade, so I put my 250mm lens on my camera and went out with my tripod to see what I could get. I like the picture above, but next time I experiment on moon photography I think I’ll ask to borrow Betsy’s 300mm lens.

It’s a wonderful photo George. Hope you have a warm day by the fire – it’s cold today!

Me too.I’m trying to learn the manual settings. I haven’t tried the moon yet. You have done a great job here especially when enlarged.

All those camera settings can be interesting. I’m still experimenting for night photos also. You got a nice photo of the moon.

you did a good job, i have given up on moon shots, never gotten one near as good as this one. like the snow falling to, how did you do that

I can see the craters, and it’s snowing in front of the moon!! Very cool. Night photography is extremly hard! When I take my moon pictures, I don’t have a tripod!! On such a zoom, one tiny breath or shake ruins it! Sometimes i can balance it on the car window ledge.

Terrific moon shot, George! I don’t get them very often, but it’s wonderful when I do! Hope your week is off to a great start!

Excellent moon shot George. I like taking pics of the moon. I wonder though when people talk about settings and adjustments and all that camera talk. I just point my camera at the moon zoom and focus and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. MB

I think you did a marvelous job George!
I saw that moon but it was cloudy here and too cold for me to try my hand at a moon shot.
It had to be cold there too so I commend you for going out.

That’s not a bad job at all George. 🙂 It looked just like that here at Sanibel. Keep up the good work. 🙂
