I captured this picture of the setting sun as we drove through the Smokies a few years ago.  We no longer drive after dark if we can help it, but I’m glad I was able to get this shot.

Great Smoky Mountains

On our way back home from Asheville, North Carolina, in June, Betsy and I drove through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  Along the way we stopped at the Charles A. Webb Overlook on Newfound Gap Road where I got this picture.  The clouds were as beautiful as the mountains.  June 24, 2025.

Fontana Lake

I captured this picture of Fontana Lake several years ago while Betsy and I were driving through the North Carolina side of the Smokey Mountains.  This part of the Smokies is often referred to as the quiet side of the Smokies.  That may be true, but it is as beautiful as any other section of the park.
